GXI’s GCASH Product Undergoes Rebranding



The Microenterprise Access to Banking Services (MABS) Program’s mobile phone banking initiative partner G-Xchange, Inc. (GXI) announced the rebranding of its GCASH remittance product. From the former GCASH Advise & Pay, it was renamed as GCASH Remit. The brand name GCASH Remit will be carried by both its local and international remittance services.

GXI is Globe Telecom’s mobile commerce subsidiary. Globe launched GCASH in October 2004; four years since the launch of GCASH, 644 rural banking units (bank branches and other banking offices or OBOs) across the country have already been accredited as GCASH partners and now offer cash-in and cash-out services. Majority of these banks also offer MABS-developed mobile phone banking services that utilize the GCASH platform, such as Text-A-Payment (TAP), Text-A-BillPayment (TAB), Text-A-Deposit (TAD), Text-A -Withdrawal (TAW), Text-A-Remittance (TAR), and Text-A-Sweldo (TAS).
